Mnemosynes are ancient receptacles of the knowledge of the old Dericost kingdom. Those that convert themselves into the undead slowly rot (except for His Eternal Splendor) and their mental faculties fail so storing memories like this is important to them. When Bael'Zharon returned, the undead wanted to safeguard their knowledge from the impending conflict. Two competing groups emerged in the hunt for mnemosynes: the Undead Hunters based in Tufa and the Archons of the Way which are found in a dungeon called the Mnemosyne Collection Site near Samsur.
